*WiFi router not included, but can be bought from your local electronics store if you don't already have one.
This system provides outdoor WiFi service for 20 to 50 people downloading general content and email, as found at an RV Park or military type camp. Connect the included 50' Ethernet cable to your existing router and place outdoors where the signal can be received best. Our High-Gain 8dBi Omni-Directional WiFi Antenna (sold separately) gives good coverage from ¼ to ½ mile in all directions.
You will need to provide the exact network name (SSID) and wireless password (Wireless Encryption Key) you wish to use. For example: "Bobs Network" or "My Access point". We will pre-configure the outdoor access point with these settings so its ready to use when you receive it. Just mount the antenna, plug the supplied ethernet cable into one of your wifi router's empty LAN ports and you're done. If later on, you have the desire to change the network name or wireless password, we can walk you through the process over the phone or you can follow the included directions.
It is best to have perfect line of site to the network, without obstructions. You should get better WiFi reception if you mount the antenna outside and up high (recommended).
Realistically, you should be able to provide a WiFi signal at a range of two to three city blocks away to most devices (if there are no obstructions). If you have a powerful laptop or external USB antenna mounted outside (again, with no obstructions) then you may be able to receive this hotspot from over 1 mile away.

Each of these antennas offers different reception strengths and coverage depending on your needs. Directional antennas will cover more distance but the angle of coverage will not be as great as an omni directional antenna.
