With the Versa WiFi USB Adapter 3 you can significantly boost your Winows based computer's WiFi signal. It can be a perfect solution for use in low signal areas and it's small size make it great for travel. The 5dBi antenna with magnetic mount and 8 feet of non-detachable cable allows the antenna to be placed in a window or outside a vehicle where the WiFi signal can be best received. Setup is easy with the included software or you can choose to use the standard Windows drivers for the fast plug and play compatibility.

The coaxial connector (RP-SMA type) gives you the ability to use it with a more powerful antenna for an even better signal boost. For the biggest boost in range you can attach our narrow beam Point-To-Point WiFi Antenna for reception up to about 3 miles (depending on the wireless router's sending antenna). In our tests we were amazed with the high performance and long range linking ability of the Versa WiFi USB Adapter 3 to distant routers.

Note: The Versa WiFi USB Adapter 3 requires the installation of software drivers. Gaming stations such as the Xbox® and the Sony PlayStation®, the iPad®, iPhone®, Android® and Windows RT® devices are not capable of installing these software drivers.

I recently upgraded my computer to Windows 10 and connected antenna with the USB cable but it is not recognized or showing after installing software drivers. What can I do?

  1. Plug the USB WiFi Antenna and cable into your computer's USB port.
  2. Right click on the Windows Start Icon.
  3. Left click on Device Manager.
  4. Select Network adapter to expand to show the adapters listed below the title.
  5. Right click on "802.11n USB Wireless Lan Card......".
  6. Left click on Uninstall.
  7. Check the box "Remove all drivers".
  8. Click Okay.
  9. Unplug the antenna's USB cable from your computer.
  10. Restart your computer.
  11. Plug antenna's USB cable back into your computer's USB port and it should install automatically without the need to install any software or drivers.
Windows 10 does not show both Internal and External WiFi when clicking on the WiFi icon like Windows 7 and 8.
  1. Left click the WiFi Setting icon at the bottom right of the desktop.
  2. Look at the top of the list for the word "WiFi".
  3. Left click the drop down arrow to the right side.
  4. Left click on the word Wi-Fi with a number such as WiFi-2. You should now see networks that our device is receiving.

Will the Versa WiFi USB Adapter 3 work with Windows© 10?

Yes it will. In most cases all you have to do is plug in the antenna to your computer using the supplied cable and Windows© 10 will install the device. The drivers for the antenna are bundled in with the Windows© 10 operating system.

Can I remove the 5 dBi antenna from the Mag Mount base and replace it with a stronger gain antenna?

No, the 5 dBi antenna is fixed (unattachable) to the Mag Mount base and cable. There are other ways to possibly improve WiFi reception using the Versa WiFi USB Adapter 3. Please call our Tech Support at (800) 522-8863 for other possible options!
