With the power off, press and hold memory buttons #4 and #6 until the radio beeps four times, the display flashes and three final beeps are heard.
One of the smallest multiband radios with SSB, the new Skywave-SSB has everything the original Skywave has. But we continue to have a select group of radio enthusiasts who want more... "The CC Skywave has shortwave but it would be perfect if it had Single Side Band". The entirely new circuit also allowed us to improve the audio and reception slightly while keeping the button layout as intuitive as possible.
You can now listen to FEMA, long range aviation, ships at sea (think coast guard), space, even transmissions and other worldwide communication when nothing else is available. Single Side Band in not available on your smartphone which makes it the ultimate off the grid format.
Included is a CC Shortwave Reel Antenna, a pair of our original CC Buds, and a faux leather carry case.

No.
Press and hold the Preset #1 button down for 3 seconds with radio turned OFF.
To activate the charging circuit the radio must be powered off. Then press and release the Charge/Bandwidth button to place it into charging mode.
The radio maybe set to 9 kHz tuning steps instead of 10 kHz tuning steps. To change this, turn the radio off, then press and hold the button preset #0 (9/10kHz) down for 3 seconds or until the display shows the number 10. Turn the radio on and select the AM band. Try tuning the radio using the tuning knob or the Up/Down buttons.
If the NOAA Weather Alert function was accidentally or intentionally activated, this will cause the display light to intermittently flash. If you would like to disable this function, press and hold down the Alert button for 5 seconds.
Our CC Skywave SSB Radio (SSB) offers Single Side Band. This new feature allows users to listen to Morse code over the shortwave frequencies. BFO is not needed with the CC Skywave SSB. One of our users that owns our CC Skywave SSB Radio stated the following:
"One advantage the Skywave SSB has is that a narrow bandwidth down to 500Hz can be used to improve readability in poor conditions. Very few other radios in this class can do this. The SSB can also copy CW (Morse code) and digital modes such as RTTY, PSK31, FT8, and even slow scan TV!"
Low batteries can cause this situation. Replace the batteries with a new set.
Weather Alert may be activated and it is interfering with setting the clock or alarm time. Turn the Weather Alert OFF by pressing the AM/FM/Alert button for 2 seconds. Make sure the radio is powered OFF when trying to set the clock or alarm.
